Prayer as Faithfulness

Don't shrink back! Have you ever had a friend or a family member who wasn't there for you when you really needed them? Part of being a good friend is being faithful, dependable, not shrinking back. It's the same with being a follower of Jesus. Don't shrink back even when you're tired or you don't feel like it; be faithful, go to God in prayer.

When we go to God with prayer even when we don't feel like it, we are telling God and ourselves that we value the relationship, that we are present even when things get hard, and that we believe we will get through it with God's help. That is faithfulness.

As you go through your week, remember God, especially in the busy, tiring, or difficult moments. Stop and pray to God even if you don't feel like it or it doesn't feel like you have time for it. Be faithful, make the time for God. Even if your situation doesn't change, let your prayers and the presence of God change you. Stay faithful and remember how good it will feel to hear your Lord say these wonderful words to you one day:

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ Matthew 25:23 ESV

Prayer

Lord, I look forward to that day I get to hear 'Well done, good and faithful servant'. I thank you for forgiving my sins and making me new. I am not always as faithful as I should be, but I will continue to learn and grow and work on being that faithful servant I desire to be for You. Thank you for loving me the way I am Lord. AMEN.
