Prayer as Gifts - Part 1

The reason for the season is the ultimate gift. The gift our Heavenly Father sent to us. His Son for our salvation. What better gift is there than that? Jesus knew that He was going to die for us. He knew when and how. He took on all our sins so that we would be saved.

We often get caught up in the material things of this world. I want a new bike. I want jewelry. I want...I want....I want.

What about Jesus? What do you think He wanted while he walked among us? The answer is simple really. He wants us to follow Him and love one another.

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35 ESV

Love is the gift that He gives us so freely everyday. Love is His greatest command. He gave His life for us because He loves us. So for Christmas this year, love your neighbor. Love your enemies. Love Jesus because He loves you!

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:36-39 ESV

Prayer

Heavenly Father. Thank you for loving me when I felt like I didn't deserve it. Thank you for sending Your Son to die on the cross for me. Thank you for showing me how to love others through Your Son. I pray blessings this season for my neighbors and my enemies. I pray all this in Your Son's Holy Name. AMEN.
