Prayer as Obedience

The Lord's Commandments don't ask much of us, only to obey them. His commandment is to love one another. What does it mean to love one another? It means to love them like God loves them. It means to do no harm or steal from them. It means to always honor our parents and elders. By following them, John is right, 'his commandments are not burdensome' and love comes effortlessly.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 ESV

It feels hard to follow the commandments when we live in a world so full of sin but it really is not hard. Remember, we are the salt and light in the world. By reflecting His love through following His commandments, we show His love to the unbeliever, we give hope to sorrow filled, and we renew faith in the doubter.

Prayer

Lord, let me be your vessel today. Let me shine with Your love and love like You love. Thank You for loving me so unconditionally that You gave Your life for me. AMEN.
