Prayer as Seeking

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:10‭-‬11 ESV

When we pray we are seeking the face of God. He is never far from any of us, but to meet God face to face is to seek awareness of Him and the sense of His presence. Honestly for most of us this is going to be the hardest part of prayer, pressing in and pressing through until we reach that awareness. Don't stop until you see His face! Go into your room, your inner-most room, the quiet place. This is silence and solitude.

When you start to pray, do thoughts of what you have to do intrude? Silence them, God will redeem the time.

Do you find yourself thinking about your kids, your family, or your friends? You aren't their only provider, God will take care of them.

Distracted thoughts? A crowded room between you and your Father, Push past them.

Lies? Bad directions, disregard them.

Blasphemous thoughts? Enemies coming against you, take them captive.

The veil is torn. The fog is lifted. Do not let anything stand between you and God again.

Our lives are hidden with God in the secret place. Life is found in Him, that Life is the light of men. Abide in that light! May He go before you and His face shine upon you all of your days! Seek Him! Diligently seek Him!! Whatever it takes seek Him!!!

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Proverbs 8:17 ESV

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:12‭-‬13 ESV

Prayer

Lord, I seek You in all things I do. Guide me in Your ways, and show me how to be more like You and less like me. I pray all this in Your Son's Mighty Name. AMEN.
